HIV Testing

Provides a variety of HIV testing.

  • Point of Care Testing or Rapid Testing involves pricking the finger and testing the blood while the client waits. Negative test results are returned immediately, and positive tests are sent to a public health laboratory for standard testing.
  • Standard Testing is done by taking a blood sample and sending it to a public health laboratory. Clients may wait up to two weeks to receive their final results.
  • Self-Testing allows clients to obtain a testing kit to take home and conduct themselves. Reactive or preliminary positive tests require a standard HIV test.
  • Anonymous Testing offers Point of Care and Standard testing, but without asking for a health card or any personal identifying information.
