Ontario Electricity Support Program

A program that lowers electricity bills for low-income households. The program will reduce the cost of household electricity by applying a monthly credit directly to the bill. The credit amount will depend on how many people live in the home and the combined household income.

Eligibility

Open to all low-income individuals and families who have accounts with electric utilities, unit sub-meter providers, and retail energy companies

Application Instructions

Apply online, by mail, or through an intake agency. Applicants must supply:

  • their electricity bill
  • names and birthdates of all the residents in the home
  • Social Insurance Numbers or temporary tax numbers for all household members who are over the age of 18
