- Administers and updates Ontario's Building Code
- Sets the rules for and oversees Ontario's land use planning
- Develops rules that protect tenants and encourages maintenance and investment in rental housing
- Works to measure and address homelessness in Ontario
- Funds construction and repair of social housing and affordable rental housing
- Sets the annual rent-increase guideline and other rules related to rental housing
